Landed on head while jumping by LoriI read the article in which a helmet saved Vanessa's life. I also was saved by my helmet. I was in a jumping lesson at college. The horse I was on stopped short of the coup fence we were jumping that day. I didn't and continued over the other side and landed on my head. I was able to walk away with only a broken nose. When I looked at my helmet, It had a tear in the velvet cover on the front of the helmet and the visor was broken where it connects to the helmet. I was lucky. It could have been worse.
