Daughter wishes she'd worn a helmet by Karen

My 14 year old daughter has worked very hard all year to become the captain of her western drill team. They have just one competition all year and she won't be in it to lead her team because she wasn't wearing a helmet. She was feeling pretty cocky with her frisky 6 year old quarter horse, hopped up on him bareback, without a bridle.......and most importantly without a helmet. The horse decided he wanted to play and she fell off, striking her head either on the arena wall or a horse's hoof. She received 2 skull fractures and a severe concussion. She will recover but won't ride again for a very long time. If you want to see heartbreak......just look in her eyes. My advice to anyone who loves to ride.......wear a helmet! Because you can't ride if you receive a brain injury.
